Speaking at the Jewish Channel, Gingrich, who has risen to the top of the polls predicted a Republican and as a strong challenger to President Barack Obama in the November 2012 election, he was associate Palestine with Ottoman dynasty who had triumphed in Europe.

"Remember, there is no Palestine as a state. It is part of the Ottoman Empire until the early 20th century," said Gingrich.
"I think that the Palestinians are Arabs, and which has historically been part of the Arab community, and they have a chance to go. And for various political reasons they make war against Israel until now since the 1940s, and it's tragic, "he said.
Gingrich along with other Republican candidates are struggling to attract Jewish support by vowing to improve U.S. relations with Israel if elected.

Gingrich said the militant group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian Authority, which controls the West Bank, is an "overwhelming desire to destroy Israel."

Gingrich also said he would be willing to consider granting clemency to Jonathan Jay Pollard, who had undergone a life sentence since 1987 for leaking U.S. secrets to Israel. Respectively, the U.S. president has rejected Israel to free him.
