Drake was born on October 24, 1986, Toronto, Canada. His father is Dennis Graham, a drummer who has performed with Jerry Lee Lewis, and he is the nephew of musician Teenie Hodges. He attended elementary school at Forest Hill Public School, and high school at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute, where his acting journey began.
In 2001, he received his debut acting role as basketball star Jimmy Brooks in the show Degrassi: The Next Generation. In 2006, he released his mixtape on Myspace where it received a fair amount of attention. 2007 brought even more success with Drake releasing an already popular song called “Man of the Year” with Lil Wayne. In 2008, he dropped the popular album “Heartbreak Drake,” and in 2009 he collaborated with Wayne once again, this time with the addition of Young Money on the song “So Far Gone”.
Over the course of his career, Drake has worked with many prominent artists including: Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Robin Thicke and Little Brother.
