Dom DeLuise Dies


Dom DeLuise, the portly funnyman whose star shined in comedies such as Cannonball Run, Spaceballs and Blazing Saddles, died Monday in a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 75, his son Michael DeLuise confirmed Tuesday.
DeLuise leaves behind a wife -- actress Carol Arthur -- and three sons: actor, writer, director Peter DeLuise, actor David DeLuise and Michael DeLuise.

The cap-clad, New York-born comedian was involved in aspects of movies, television and publishing in his longtime career. The likeable personality gained a special niche as the pitchman of Ziploc bags with a series of entertaining commercials in the 80s.
